About UPI
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in 2016. It powers multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application (of any participating bank), merging several banking features, seamless fund routing, and merchant payments into one platform, making digital payments simple, secure, and quick.

Looking Ahead
The successful launch of UPI at both the Eiffel Tower and Galeries Lafayette sets a precedent for other global retailers to consider adopting this innovative payment system. As UPI continues to expand its global footprint, it is poised to become a key player in the international digital payments landscape, making cross-border transactions as seamless as those within India.
