India’s Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation fell to a three-month low of 0.27% in January helped by easing in food price rise and continued decline in the prices of manufactured products, government data showed on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the month-on- month change in WPI index for January witnessed a contraction of (-)0.33 per cent from a contraction of (-)1.12 per cent in the preceding month.
Inflation for manufactured products came in at -1.13 per cent in January.
Earlier this week, India’s retail inflation data was released which showed that it has eased to 5.10 per cent on an annual basis as against a four-month high of 5.69 per cent in December, data released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation showed.
