Stock Market Highlights: Nifty ends above 17700,Sensex up 311 points.

The Indian equity market indices ended higher for the seventh consecutive session on Tuesday, April 11, registering the longest winning streak in over four months.

At close, the Sensex was up 311.21 points or 0.52 percent at 60,157.72, and the Nifty was up 98.30 points or 0.56 percent at 17,722.30.

Stocks and Sectors

Kotak Mahindra Bank, JSW Steel, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto and Tata Steel were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were HCL Technologies, TCS, Infosys, Asian Paints and Wipro, according to reliable sources.

Among sectors, auto, bank, metal, oil & gas, power indices rose 1 percent each, while the IT index was down nearly 1 percent.

The BSE midcap index was up 0.4 percent and smallcap index gained 0.6 percent.

Retail inflation eased to 5.8 percent in March,dipping below the Reserve Bank of India’s upper tolerance limit for the first time in 2023, according to sources.

On April 11’23 ,the rupee falls 13 paise to close at 82.05 against US dollar.
