Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav welcomed Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi upon their arrival at the State Hangar in Bhopal on Monday evening. Yadav presented them with bouquets, ceremonial shawls, and a statue of Raja Bhoj as a mark of respect.
Yadav emphasized the significance of the Narmada River in enriching both Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. He highlighted that the river has played a major role in making both states prosperous.
Acknowledging the large presence of the Gujarati community in several cities of Madhya Pradesh, he praised their entrepreneurial spirit, stating that Gujarati entrepreneurs and professionals have made a mark not only in India but also globally through their hard work.
Patel, deeply moved by the warm reception, expressed a strong sense of belonging in Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized the strong tradition of cooperation between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and noted that the ‘Sadakal Gujarat- Bhopal’ initiative is further strengthening these ties. He reiterated that this program is adding a new dimension to the historical bond between the two states.
Patel and Sanghavi arrived in Bhopal to attend the ‘Sadakal Gujarat-Bhopal’ program, an event dedicated to honoring the contributions of Gujaratis residing outside Gujarat. The event featured cultural performances, a grand celebration of Gujarati cuisine, and a virtual darshan (viewing) of several famous temples of Gujarat at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal. The Gujarat government organized the event in collaboration with the Gujarat State Non- Resident Gujarati Foundation.
Tree Plantation and Meeting with the Gujarati Community
Yadav and Patel jointly planted a mango sapling at the State Hangar premises, symbolizing their commitment to environmental sustainability and friendship between the two states.
During the visit, representatives of the Gujarati community in Bhopal, including Sanjay Patel, Harshad, Priya Patidar, Chetan Patel, Renka Mehta, and other dignitaries, met with Patel. Public representatives, including Rahul Kothari, also greeted and welcomed the Gujarat chief minister.
The event reinforced the historical ties between the two states and celebrated the shared cultural and economic contributions of the Gujarati community in Madhya Pradesh.
