VP Dhankhar Calls for Collective Planetary Conservation at RE-INVEST 2024

Vice-President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, presided over the valedictory ceremony of the 4th Global RE-INVEST 2024 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The event concluded with a remarkable achievement as it secured investment commitments totalling Rs. 32.45 lakh crore, underscoring India’s growing prominence in the global renewable energy sector.In his address as the Chief Guest, Vice-President Dhankhar while praising Gujarat’s rich history and its role in India’s independence movement, drew parallels between the state’s leadership during the freedom struggle and its current pioneering role in renewable energy. He commended India’s leadership in the renewable energy sector, emphasizing the country’s rapid rise and transformative progress at the grassroots level. “India is on the rise and will continue to rise in the years ahead,” he stated, underscoring the nation’s success in climate conservation and its ongoing efforts to address the global climate crisis. Energy has to be consumed in a manner that makes everything sustainable, he said. Dhankhar issued a clarion call for transformation and collective action to safeguard the planet for future generations.

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi ,Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel,Governor of Punjab Gulab Chand Kataria,Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat were present on the occasion.

With over 250 expert speakers and thousands of participants, the three-day summit was a major platform for showcasing cutting-edge renewable energy technologies. The event saw over 500 B2B and B2G meetings and the participation of more than 200 companies, underscoring the importance of renewable energy in addressing global climate challenges.The 4th Global RE-INVEST 2024, organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has served as a key platform for fostering international collaboration and investment in green energy. The summit concluded with optimism and a strong call for innovation, collaboration, and youth participation in the global movement toward sustainability reinforcing India’s leadership in renewable energy ,setting a global example for sustainability. Besides, The event also reflected India’s ancient philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), which was showcased during last year’s G-20 summit, where more than 100 countries, including the European and African Unions, adopted India’s sustainable solutions.
