The domestic equity market indices traded low on Friday,as investors booked profits at higher levels. At close, the Sensex was down 732.96 points or 0.98 percent at 73,878.15, and the Nifty was down 172.35 points or 0.76 percent at 22,475.85. About 1241 shares advanced, 2013 shares declined, and 79 shares unchanged

Analysts attributed this correction to pre- Lok Sabha election outcome jitters, earnings season, and a high level of margin trading. However, experts hope the bullish momentum would remain intact in the near-term, given political stability is established.

●Nifty hits new high, Sensex reclaims 75,000 mark,

Rupee Close:
On 03 May’24,the Indian rupee ended marginally higher at 83.43 against the U.S. dollar on Friday, tracking strong sentiment in the domestic equity markets and a weak American currency against major rivals overseas.Forex traders said the outflow of foreign funds and elevated level of crude oil prices, however, weighed on the Indian currency.
