Market Momentum Stalls amid volatility, Midcap index in the red

The domestic share market indices turned flat after scaling fresh all-time highs on Tuesday. At close, the Sensex was down 58.80 points or 0.08 percent at 74,683.70, and the Nifty was down 23.55 points or 0.10 percent at 22,642.75. About 1434 shares advanced, 2269 shares declined, and 100 shares unchanged.

Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco Industries, ICICI Bank, Infosys and Bajaj Finserv were the top gainers on the Nifty , while losers included Titan Company, Hero MotoCorp, Coal India, Reliance Industreis and Asian Paints.

On the sectoral front, media, auto, capital goods, FMCG down 0.5-1 percent, while metal and realty up 0.5 percent each.BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices ended on negative note.

Rupee Close:
On 09 April’24,The Indian rupee settled on a flat note on Tuesday at 83.32 against the US dollar, as the support from positive domestic equities was negated by the strength of the American currency in the overseas market.
