Sensex sheds 143 pts; Nifty ends below 19,400 Oil&Gas,FMCG,IT major drag

The Indian equity market indices fell in early trade on Thursday amid continuous foreign fund outflows and mixed trends from global markets.

At close,Sensex was down 143.41 points or 0.22 percent to end at 64,832.20, while Nifty was down 48.20 points or 0.25 percent to close at 19,395.30.

Stocks and Sectors

M&M, Apollo Hospitals, Coal India, Hero MotoCorp and Power Grid Corporation were top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Adani Enterprises, HUL, Tata Consumer Products, Adani Ports and ONGC.

A mixed trend was seen on the sectoral front with realty and auto indices up 1 percent each, while Oil & Gas, FMCG and Information Technology indices were down 0.5 percent each.BSE Midcap index ended on a flat note, while Smallcap index was down 0.25 percent.

On 09 Nov’23,the Indian rupee stayed range-bound and settled 1 paisa higher to close at 83.29 against the US dollar on Thursday amid a negative trend in domestic equities and sustained foreign fund outflows.

Market experts have recommended five stocks to buy for Thursday- JSW Steel, Titan, Hero Motocorp, Dilip Buildcon and Jyothy Lab.
