Stock market traded positive amid volatility

The Indian equity indices ended Thursday session broadly in green as moderation in US inflation boosted sentiments triggering a rally in global markets.
Besides,outweighed concerns over higher than domestic inflation made domestic equity indices log fresh lifetime highs intraday on Thursday with Sensex breaching the historic 66000-mark for the first time.But it closed marginally higher led by IT and financial stocks, according to sources.
At close,the Sensex was up 164.99 points or 0.25 percent at 65,558.89, and the Nifty was up 29.50 points or 0.15 percent at 19,413.75.
Stocks and Sectors
Hindalco Industries, TCS, Infosys, LTIMindtree and Tech Mahindra were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Power Grid Corporation, Coal India, BPCL, UPL and Maruti Suzuki.
On the sectoral front,selling was seen in the auto, capital goods, FMCG, healthcare, oil & gas and power sectors while buying was witnessed in the bank, metal, realty and information technology names, according to sources.
BSE Midcap index touched a new high of 29,420.55 and Smallcap index recorded a fresh high of 33,746.89.BSE midcap and smallcap indices down 0.5 percent each.
On 13th July’23,the Indian rupee ended 18 paise higher to close at 81.07 against the US dollar, registering its fourth straight session of gains, led by broader weakness in the greenback.
