Sensex,Nifty50 hit record closing highs led by Reliance Industries,M&M

The weekly options expiry session turned out to be a strong one for India’s equity benchmark indices as the Nifty 50 posted a record closing highs for the sixth straight session on Thursday.
The index has now gained for eight days in a row, and also closed near the mark of 19,500. 14 stocks on the Nifty 50 ended either at a record high or at 52-week high.At close,Sensex was up 339.60 points or 0.52 percent higher at 65,785.64 and the Nifty was up 98.80 points or 0.51 percent at 19,497.30.
Stocks and Sectors
M&M, Apollo Hospitals, Power Grid Corporation, Reliance Industries and Tata Motors were the biggest gainers on Nifty, while losers included Eicher Motors, HDFC Life Insurance, Maruti Suzuki, HCL Technologies and Bajaj Finance.
On the sectoral front, power,oil & gas and realty were up 2 percent each, while auto and healthcare added a percent each, according to sources.
The BSE midcap index rose 0.8 percent and the smallcap index added 0.7 percent.
On 6th July’23,the Indian rupee depreciated 20 paise to close at 82.45 against the US dollar, weighed down by strength of the American currency in the overseas market and elevated crude oil prices.
