Stock market ended green amid positive global cues

The Indian equity indices ended green for the second consecutive session on Tuesday,in anticipation of progress in US debt ceiling negotiations.

At close,the Sensex was up 18.11 points or 0.03 percent to close at 61,981.79,and Nifty registered a gain of 0.18 percent or 33.60 points to close at 18,348.

Stocks and Sectors

Adani Enterprises,Divis Laboratories, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finserv and UPL were the top gainers on Nifty,while losers were Apollo Hospitals, Tech Mahindra, Grasim Industries, HCL Technologies and Titan Company.

On sectoral front,the metal index was up 2.6 percent and the power index was up 1 percent, while buying was also seen in oil & gas, auto, FMCG and healthcare. Some selling was seen in the capital goods, information technology and realty names, according to reliable sources.

The BSE kidnap and small cap indices ended with marginal gains.

On 23rd May’23,the Indian rupee rises 3 paise to close at 82.81 against US dollar.

Market experts have recommended 7 buy or sell stocks for Tuesday — Persistent Systems, Can Fin Homes, Wipro, Jindal Steel and Power, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Tata Steel, and Atul Auto.
